Clinton Detweiler figures were the result of a family team effort:
Clinton built the heads, hands, built and installed all mechanics, and painted each figure.
Kevin created the strong fiber papier-mache bodies and did the final sanding of the composition heads and hands.
Adelia lined the bodies inside and out with a smooth felt "skin". She also made the arms and legs, and installed, cut and styled the wigs. She also dressed the finished figures, selecting from the wardrobe which hung above her sewing room workbench. In other words, she made the men's work look good.
Except for the screws and springs, each head's brass parts, over 100 in some models, were hand crafted by Clinton in the mechanical design taught to him by master figuremaker mechanic, George Eazer.
Willie Tyler & "Lester"
Technically Lester should not be included in this album as he was built by Madeleine Maher and George Eazer. But I did build a new body for Lester. And Willie is a graduate of the Maher Course. So to us, they're both special!
